文书，video essay以及面试是展示个人优势，专业见解和性格特点的重要途径。如何完成学校要求的材料呢?申请者们可以利用头脑风暴挖掘自己的亮点经历，跟学校的培养目标和特点有效结合起来。
接下来我们以金融专业为例，来了解下申请者通常需要准备的文书，video essay和面试。
罗彻斯特大学金融专业MS in Finance University of Rochester
罗彻斯特大学金融专业在美国高校中名列前茅。该校金融项目是STEM专业，分别有10个月项目和17个月项目，提供给学生更深入系统的专业培训和量化技能的培养。
罗彻斯特大学金融专业必需的两篇文书中，招生官希望了解到学生的长短期目标，备用职业目标，过去的经历对于职业目标的影响，以及罗彻斯特大学特别吸引申请者的地方。此外，申请者还需要通过25个字的描述，表现个人有趣的一面。
Essay题目
1. Essay 1 (Required): In 250-500 words total, respond to the following prompts：
Describe your short-term and long-term goals for post-MBA or post-MS.
Given the fluctuation of economic and industry hiring trends, identify a back-up plan should your short-term goal not be immediately attainable.
How does your past education and experience support your career objectives?
Lastly, what aspects of your intended Simon Business School program make it a good choice for your graduate study?*
2. Essay 2 (Required): In 25 words or less, provide us with an interesting fact about yourself not expressed elsewhere in your application. (25 word limit)*
3. Essay 3 (Optional): Share additional information you think is important in the evaluation of your application, including any concerns you think the Admissions Committee may have regarding your candidacy. (500 word limit)

除了Essay要求以外，很多院校的商科专业还要求申请者们参加面试，面试的形式包括录制video essay，通过网络工具如Skype的面试，甚至面对面的面试。
通过面试，招生委员会老师考察申请者的英语口语能力，思辨能力，性格特点及与学校的匹配度。面试题目随机出现，个数不一，因此建议申请者们提前梳理自己的经历，熟悉学校的项目特点，根据以往面试者的经验多多练习。

罗彻斯特大学金融专业要求国际生通过InitialView参加面试或者是提交writing sample，来证明英语流利度。
1. Simon applicants have the opportunity to provide an InitialView interview and writing sample to demonstrate their proficiency in English. Although based in China, InitialView is open to all full-time applicants. Visit the InitialView website to sign up for an interview and send your results to Simon Business School. The Simon Admissions Committee will then use this as part of the holistic review of your application. While this is not a required component, it is an excellent way to add another dimension to your candidacy - so get in front of the camera and showcase who you are!
