Personal statement在一些国外学校也被称之为motivation。主要是像对方表述你的背景，能力，兴趣和经历等。因为我们国内的教育基本上都是以分数判定的，所以很多小伙伴在自主申请国外大学的时候，都不是很清楚该如何写一篇规范的personal statement。
申请学校名和专业名
首先，personal statement内容需要确认你想要申请什么学校和什么专业。
（有些人可能一次申请很多所学校，所以为了不在申请的时候发错文件，会尽量避免在Personal statement中提及学校名和专业名。但有些人觉得不在personal statement中提这些的话，是一种很降印象分的行为。因为，对方导师会看出来，觉得你只是很随便的在申请，我们学校对你来说并不是特别的选择。）
在personal statement中需要说明，为什么你想申请对方学校和这个专业？你的经验，技能，知识如何契合这个专业？像我们国际生就还要回答为什么要来对方国家读书？英语水平如何？
