Writing in all its forms is something I am very passionate about, and I hope to instill the same passion for writing in others
I am a professional educator holding a B.A. in Communication and a Masters in Educational Leadership who currently works asa school leader and teacher. As both an academic writing and creative writing teacher, I teach more than 150 students each year how to engage readers through the written medium.
Academic writing emphasizes how to convey ideas, make arguments, and participate in scholarly conversation. Though sometimes thought of as long-winded or inaccessible, academic writing is quite the opposite: It informs, analyzes, and persuades in a straightforward mannerand enables the reader to engage critically in a scholarly dialogue. Creative writing, on the other hand, is considered to be any writing, fiction, poetry, or non-fiction, that goes outside the bounds of typical professional, journalistic, academic, and technical forms of literature. Creative writing has the power to entertain someone, to make someone laugh, to make someone cry. To make someone think.
Writing in all its forms is something I am very passionate about, and I hope to instill the same passion for writing in others.
